As a child growing up in Pembina, North Dakota, Cheryl always enjoyed sketching and painting but it wasn't until sixteen years ago she took up her painting vocation full time, while living on Vancouver Island.
Cheryl's home in Dodge Cove is her studio and she would rather sit at her easel than do almost anything else. Using acrylic on linen or canvas ground she truly enjoys capturing the spirit and character of her subject in a realistic and representational style.

Her completed works always show the finest attention to detail and compositional skill, whether that subject is a person or a pride of sea lions in their natural setting. Cheryl also does fine renditions of area subjects of historic significance.
